Choquequirao is one of Peru's best-preserved Inca citadels and only accessible on foot, making it an exclusive and uncrowded destination. Located at 3,085 m in the Apurímac canyon, this archaeological wonder is known as "Machu Picchu's sister." Less than 40% of the site has been excavated to date.
Day 1: Cusco → Cachora, start of trek, descent to the Apurímac river.
Day 2: Ascent to Choquequirao (6+ hours trekking), camp at the citadel.
Day 3: Detailed visit of Choquequirao ruins, free afternoon to explore.
Day 4: Return to Cachora, transport to Cusco.
